A large share of every OEM’s revenues come from service and repair, but a lot of time end efforts are wasted in identifying the cause of a problem after a breakdown. Currently only a small portion of machines in the field is IoT-ready, which makes it challenging for OEMs to “point the finger” and determine whether a repair should be under warranty or paid service.

About the Speaker:
Matteo Dariol is a Lead Innovation Strategist for Bosch Rexroth. He is located in Bosch’s innovation and co-creation space within Chicago historic Merchandise Mart, called Chicago Connectory, a joint venture between the German corporation and 1871. His activities revolve around the intersection between R&D and product development, with the goal of looking outside Bosch Rexroth’s core business and identifying new technologies and new business models. Currently his areas of expertise are serverless cloud software architectures, artificial intelligence (AI) applied to manufacturing, industrial IoT (IIoT), distributed ledger technologies (DLT) and business model innovation.
